Scigiene offers Immunoaffinity columns (IAC) to help with concentration and clean up of samples to be tested for specific Mycotoxins. As with any test other chemicals present can interfere or block reactions. Antibody-Antigen tests are no different and in fact many Allergen and Mycotoxin tests kits have no AOAC approval or the tests are approved for one very limited application. The reasoning is simple. The changes in food chemistry may or may not affect the results. IAC columns help here by isolating the Mycotoxins and extracting them for testing. This both reduces interferences and also concentrates the Mycotoxins allowing for lower level detection.
