Baird Parker Agar and VRBG Agar for Staphylococci and Enterobacteriaceae with neutralizers. This slide offers a Staphylococci count on one side and an Enterobacteriaceae count on the other side. The addition of neutralizers means that these dipslides are ideal for assessing the efficacy of cleaning regimes. Neutralizers are added to agars to ‘neutralize’ the effect of disinfectants / germicides. The neutralizer aids in the recovery of surviving / viable organisms that have been damaged but not killed by cleaning chemicals. This is useful if you wish to test the efficacy of cleaning agents. The neutralizer will help you get a more accurate result without the efficacy of your cleaning regime being overestimated.
VRBG - Detects Enterobacteriaceae. Produces purple / pink colonies. A neutralizer has been added to this agar.
Baird Parker - This agar is selective for Staphylococci. Staphylococcus aureus shows good growth with black shiny colonies with white and clear zones. A neutralizer has been added to this agar.
These dipslides come in a pack size of 10 slides per box. The slide has a flexible paddle and is located in a shatterproof container.
Simply remove the dipslide and immerse in (or press against) the sample for approx. 10 seconds. Remove dipslide and allow to drain (if necessary) for a few seconds, then replace the slide back into the tube and incubate for a minimum of 24 hours (up to a maximum of 48 hours).
