Contam Swab - Salmonella is a microbiological test with a selective and differential medium for the detection of Salmonella spp. directly from surfaces. The product consists of a sterile swab with selective culture media and a sterile tear pouch.

TEST PROCEDURE:
1. Take the sterile
swab contained in the pouch.
2. Moisten the tip of the swab by immersing it in a tube containing
sterile culture medium.
3. Press/rotate the tip of the swab against the wall of the tube to remove excess liquid.
4. Swab the
surface (10cm x 10cm) horizontally and vertically.
5. Insert the swab in the tube containing the culture medium.
6. Cap the tube and record date and the sampling
point.
7. Incubate at 37°C for 18-24 hours.
RESULTS INTERPRETATION:
Watch for the color change of the medium and interpret the results as shown in the table.

STORAGE:
10-25°C away from light, until the expiry date on the label. Eliminate if signs of deterioration or contamination are evident.
